New 2016 RAM 3500 at Button Dodge for Kokomo, IN
The 2016 RAM 3500 is truly a marvel of engineering and power, and widely used in the construction and heavier workload trades. Best-in-class comes up a lot with the 3500, and it's only getting stronger. New in 2016, diesel calibration increases the torque to 900 pound-feet. Also for 2016, the top-tier Laramie Limited trim has a reinvigorated exterior. Could RAM have just relied on this truck's capabilities and left the interior as an afterthought? Certainly but they did not, they went in the other direction completely. For instance, there is an available console bin for cell phones which can be hidden with an actual wood sliding door, among other same level touches involving interior pin striping and chrome accenting.
Under the 3500's Hood
The 2016 RAM 3500 is primarily rear-wheel or four-wheel-drive, but also can be either single-rear-wheel (SRW) or dual-rear-wheel (DRW) drive. There are two available engines, the standard is a 6.4-liter V8, or an available 6.7-liter Cummins turbocharged, diesel-fueled inline six-cylinder. The V8 engine will offer 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque on the majority of cab and bed configurations. The diesel engine has different power outputs, but it can get up to 385 horsepower and 900 lb-ft of torque when paired with the commercial-grade Aisin six-speed automatic transmission. Let's not beat around the bush here though, with up to 31,210 pounds of towing capacity and a payload rating of 7,390 pounds, it's going to be able to take care of whatever you realistically need, end of story. In order to do that, unlike the 2500s coil suspension, a rear Hotchkiss leaf spring setup is there with a supplemental air suspension system (only on single and dual rear-wheel choices). This is done by adding supplemental air bags to the rear suspension, softening the leaf springs, allowing for more suspension adaptability, even at max capacity. There is also an advanced three-link front suspension that helps to counter body roll with heavy loads, so that will definitely be something to brag about on lunch-break with co-workers.
Design of RAM 3500
There are six available trims, and a number of available bed lengths corresponding to the choice of the three optional cabs. The Tradesman and SLT are available on all three cabs, and the crew cab and Mega Cab Rams also get Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn and Laramie Limited versions. The base Tradesman level has standard accessories like tow hooks, a 40/20/40-split front bench seat, a limited-slip rear differential and either 18-inch (SRW) or 17-inch (DRW) steel wheels. The interior standard and available features truly stand out in this grade of truck, for instance front and rear parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, driver memory settings, a six-way power passenger seat (with power lumbar), 10-speaker audio system, running boards, a spray-in bedliner, remote ignition, a full center console, upgraded leather upholstery, wood interior and steering wheel trim, a navigation system, the RamBox cargo management system, and so much more!

Is there a Mega Cab option?
Yes, if you don't need a long truck bed, the 'Mega Cab' has expansive legroom and reclining seat backs, which is great for frequent passengers and longer trips.
RAM has equipped the 3500 with stability/traction control, antilock disc brakes, and a tire-pressure monitoring system that becomes especially important with heavier cargo, with frequently changing load weights or with changing temperatures. Rear parking sensors, adjustable pedals, and rear cameras are also available. A cargo-area camera aimed at the bed of the truck really helps check loads quickly while driving so you know if straps are straying or staying, and to check if wind is pushing things around too enthusiastically (plus, keeps the drivers behind you safer from fallout). You really can't do better than this if you tow or haul heavy things all the time, especially when you consider the interior amenities and practical features that RAM designed into it.
