What's new

The 2021 model year of the Dodge Durango makes a host of changes to the previous model year, with probably the biggest coming in the form of a new trim: SRT Hellcat. Beyond the new trim level, the new Dodge Durango offers up exterior and interior design changes, an upgraded towing package, an infotainment system update, and the addition of wireless smartphone charging.

Performance

The Dodge Durango shines in the performance realm, offering Marion drivers ample power even at the base trim level. Powering the base trim is a 2.6-liter V6 engine that boasts 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. In its most basic configuration, the Durango features rear-wheel drive. Logansport drivers interested in more power can look forward to a 5.7-liter V8 engine that provides 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. Like the base 3.6-liter V6 engine, the 5.7-liter V8 features standard rear-wheel drive. The Durango goes even further by providing drivers with a 6.4-liter V8 engine that makes 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Brand-new to the Dodge Durango is a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, which is exclusively available with the new SRT Hellcat trim level. The 6.2-liter V8 engine makes 710 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque, so if you're looking for the engine with the most power, the SRT Hellcat is the way to go. All four engine offerings work in unison with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel is standard with all trim levels except for the two upper engine options, which include standard all-wheel drive.

Technology

Indeed, the Durango SXT includes an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, four USB ports, a 6-speaker audio system, and Bluetooth connectivity. Tech offerings don't change much until the R/T trim, which replaces the 8.4-inch infotainment display with a 10.1-inch display. The R/T trim also adds a 9-speaker Alpine audio system wireless charging, and Amazon Alexa compatibility. For Tipton drivers after a seriously impressive audio system, the new Dodge Durango provides a 19-speaker Harman/Kardon 825-watt audio system.
