The 6.4L HEMI® gas V8 is standard on all but the Power Wagon® trim level, and it’s tuned to make 405 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. For top-tier, low-end torque and horsepower, pick the optional high-output 6.7L Cummins® inline six-cylinder (I6) turbo diesel engine. The engine is all-new for the model year with a reworked head and block, performance intake manifold, new turbocharger, and more. The result is smoother and quieter operation and a boost in power — with an additional 225 pound-feet of torque and 60 horsepower more than the 2024 model year. While both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the new Cummins turbo diesel gets a matching new transmission tuned to handle its massive capability.

Both 4x2 and 4x4 Ram 2500 models feature a three-link front suspension and a class-exclusive five-link coil-spring rear suspension.
Off-Road Drivetrain and Suspension — The rugged Ram 2500 Power Wagon and Rebel trims are equipped with burly suspension and drivetrain components to help you power through the really rough stuff with ease. Tru-Lok® electronic-locking front and rear differentials are standard with the Power Wagon, and the Rebel includes a standard rear electronic-locking differential. Additionally, the Power Wagon features a disconnecting sway bar and a raised Ram Articulink® suspension with uniquely tuned Bilstein® shocks for serious off-road prowess.
Available Axle Ratios — When equipped with the HEMI gas engine, every trim except the Power Wagon is standard with a 3.73 axle ratio. With the Cummins diesel engine, these same trims feature a 3.42 axle ratio. A 4.10 axle ratio is standard with the Power Wagon and optional with the HEMI engine on each trim.
Auto-Leveling Rear Air Suspension System — One of the standout, class-exclusive features of the 2025 Ram 2500 is its auto-leveling rear air suspension system. Available on the Rebel, Power Wagon, and 4x4 versions of the Limited Laramie® and Limited trims, this advanced system both smooths your ride and automatically levels your truck’s suspension with smart inputs derived from the amount of weight on the trailer hitch.
